You can buy povidone iodine soution just about anywhere, but it only comes in huge, expensive bottles that hold way more than anyone will ever need. Povidone Iodine is the active ingredients found in the name brand Betadine and is the ONLY over the counter antiseptic solution you should ever use on any animal. NEVER use hydrogen peroxide, it doesn't even kill baceria! Povidone Iodine has 10% iodine and is a microbicide that kills bacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses.
Uses: for cuts, scrapes, abrasions, wounds, can be applied full strength by dabbing with a cotton swab or dripping on affected area. Do not rinse and allow to dry. Follow with Thermaze or antibiotic ointment.
Be sure to order a 2oz empty bottle for mixing solution with water if needed.
As a rinse, add 1 teaspoon 5mL to 2 ounces of fresh water (boil water and allow to cool for sterile solution). Squirt liberally onto affected area several times per day, allow to dry without rinsing.
In the bath, after the dragon is done drinking, add 1 tablespoon to bath water and allow to soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
